Teaching and Administrative Positions (2025–2026)
Associate Director of College Counseling
Start Date: January or July 2026
Reports to: Director of College Counseling
Position Summary
Nobles is seeking to add another dynamic and experienced full-time associate director of college counseling to our office of five full-time counselors and an office coordinator, beginning in either January or July 2026. This 12-month position requires full engagement, alignment with the school’s mission, and enthusiasm for working with teenagers and families from various backgrounds through the complex college admissions process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with the director of college counseling and the college counseling team to provide personalized counseling to students and their families in grades 10-12, including comprehensive support for co-curricular interests such as athletic recruiting, the arts, and specialized academic programs.
- Foster an environment that encourages student exploration, self-discovery, and informed decision-making based on clear, data-informed counseling.
- Demonstrate cultural competence: the ability to understand and bridge diverse perspectives, identities, and lived experiences.
- Stay current with trends and changes in higher education by attending conferences, visiting college campuses, and maintaining professional networks.
- Support students and families with all facets of the process, including but not limited to: guiding thoughtful completion of applications, essays, financial aid, and interview preparation, comprehensive letters of recommendation, and presenting at all events put on by the college office.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the director.
Qualifications
- Three or more years of experience in college counseling in schools
- Background in selective college admissions is beneficial but not required
- A bachelor’s degree is required

General Property Maintenance Personnel—Painter and Carpenter
Noble and Greenough School is seeking a skilled painter and carpenter to join our maintenance team in the Buildings and Grounds department. The ideal candidate will have experience in both painting and carpentry, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality artisanship. This position requires versatility and proficiency in various tasks related to both disciplines. This is a full-time position, Tuesday–Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the flexibility to work Monday–Friday during the summer and school breaks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning and repairing as needed
- Apply paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes to various surfaces such as walls, ceilings, doors, cabinets, and furniture
- Select appropriate tools and materials for each job
- Perform carpentry tasks, including framing, installation of doors and windows, building and repairing furniture, and other woodworking projects
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, plywood, and other materials
- Ensure all work meets organization and industry standards for quality and safety
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition
- Collaborate with other team members and contractors as needed
- Help the grounds crew during spring cleanup and mulching and fall cleanup with leaves
- Shovel snow during and after storms
- All other duties as assigned by the director and assistant director of Buildings and Grounds
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a painter and carpenter and general maintenance
- Proficiency in painting techniques (e.g., brush, roller, spray) and carpentry skills (measuring, cutting, framing, finishing)
- Knowledge of various painting materials
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights
- Proficiency in carpentry needs for repairs and minor construction, including window and door installation, fine carpentry, roofing, and siding
- Confidence in using all types of power tools safely
- Experience in repairing commercial doors and all the hardware that goes with the doors
- Have some knowledge of plumbing and electrical
- Be able to climb ladders carrying 20 lbs. and work off of a ladder or lift
- Be able to lift and move 50 lbs
- A proactive team player who is willing to support the department in any capacity that is needed
- Potential to learn and operate the ice resurfacing machine (Zamboni)
- Possess effective communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or apprenticeship is a plus

Coaching Positions
Assistant Wrestling Coach, Varsity
Start Date: Winter 2025
Reports to: Director of Athletics
Position Summary
Nobles seeks an assistant wrestling coach to work with the Upper School team (Grades 9–12). Candidates should have a record of coaching excellence, particularly with this age group. This position is seasonal from mid-November to late February.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coach daily practices and matches against other schools. Practice time is typically 3:40–5:40 p.m. Meets are on most Saturdays during the season, and occasionally on Wednesday and Friday afternoons.
- Work individually with students in practice during technique, sessions, drills, workouts, and live wrestling
- Develop relationships with students in order to get to know them, best support them, and motivate them
- Assist the head coach with planning for meets
- Coach students during matches and after matches
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
- Some coaching experience is preferred
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Enthusiasm and communication skills to engage kids and build meaningful relationships
- Successful criminal background check, completion of CORI/SORI, and fingerprinting

Head Lacrosse Coach, Varsity Girls
