Study Away
Partnerships around the world give Nobles students the chance to study away for either a semester or a year. Every year, 10 to 15 Nobles students, usually in their Junior year, take this opportunity.
It’s an opportunity to gain independence, experience a different culture or learn a new language.
Each year, Nobles students study away at The Island School, Maine Coast Semester at Chewonki, High Mountain Institute, Alzar School in Idaho and Chile, School for Ethics and Global Leadership, and School Year Abroad, among others.
“I am grateful for the impact that the EXCEL program has had on my time at Nobles. Through EXCEL, I have had the incredible opportunity to travel to New Orleans my sophomore year, tutor for the Achieve program for three years, and study the semester away at The Island School during the fall of my junior year. EXCEL created an environment for me to learn outside of the classroom, teaching me important lessons that include the history and impact of Hurricane Katrina, how to be a combination of a tutor, friend, and mentor to the middle schoolers at Achieve, and the lessons on sustainability, conservation, marine research, and being part of an intentional community that I took away from The Island School. I want to thank the EXCEL office for providing me with these special opportunities and experiences that greatly influenced my time at Nobles!” —Antonia Gomez ’21
