We proudly congratulate the 133 graduates from the Class of 2024 who were honored during the Noble and Greenough School graduation ceremony on May 31.
The day began with a special graduation day Assembly, featuring heartfelt performances by members of the graduating class and their friends—each of which received a warm standing ovation. The announcement of Michael Timmins ’24 as this year’s recipient of the Class of ’98 Award was met with cheers and thunderous applause. There was not a dry eye in Lawrence Auditorium as the community celebrated the incredible talent and thoughtfulness of each performer, and honored the Class of 2024.
School Life Council Co-Presidents Tahira Jean Muhammad and Matthew Loose opened the ceremony with words of gratitude, and elected Class I speakers Amelia Simons and Grant Richmond spoke about meaningful Nobles connections and the courage to be one’s authentic self. Head of School Catherine J. Hall, Ph.D., encouraged students to take leaps of faith and to embrace a non-linear, purpose-driven life.
Dr. Hall also presented the Vernon L. Greene Award for Faculty Excellence to Kate Blake, English faculty member and coach of track and field and girls cross country.
Upper School Director of Studies and English teacher Shannon Clark, who gave the faculty address, shared her journey to becoming an educator and lessons she learned along the way. She passed along three precepts: “Be humble and embrace what you don’t know; be bold and ask questions with no obvious answers; be intellectually agile, and don’t be afraid to execute a thrilling about-face; and, finally, if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well.”
