Nobles Shabbat Dinner (October)
Nwanagu Family Dinner (November)
The Nwanagu Family dinner welcomes current students and graduates of color and their families. The dinner honors Devin Nwanagu ’05 who attended, worked, and coached at Nobles; her dream was to see an event where the families of color could come together and in her words, “break bread together.” It is the largest event of the year for people of color in the Nobles community.
Parent/Guardian SEED
SEED is a national program, which stands for Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity (SEED) Project. SEED seminars incorporate multimedia stories, hands-on simulations, conversation and reflection to generate conversations about important topics such as religion, race, gender, and class. We hope that participants will leave with knowledge, skills, and practice in making our communities more inclusive.
ALANA (African/Latinx/Asian/Native American) gatherings (monthly)
ALANA is a group for Nobles parents/caregivers of students of color to meet informally for connection and community. In addition to serving as an affinity space, the meetings provide opportunities to learn more about programs to support students while attending a PWI (predominantly white institution).
Community Coffee Chats hosted by DEI Parent and Guardian Association
Coordinating with the Directors of DEI and affinity group leaders, the DEI parent and guardian liaisons host speakers and discussions about recommended readings.
