The Nobles Theatre Collective (NTC) will present the Boston-area premiere production of “Bright Star” this winter! Inspired by a real event and featuring the Grammy-nominated score by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, Broadway’s “Bright Star” tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and ’40s.
From Director Dan Halperin: “When literary editor Alice Murphy meets a young soldier just home from World War II, he awakens her longing for the child she once lost. Haunted by their unique connection, Alice sets out on a journey to understand her past – and what she finds has the power to transform both of their lives. Propelled by an ensemble of onstage musicians and actors/singers/dancers, the powerfully moving story unfolds as a rich tapestry of deep emotion and beautiful melodies. An uplifting theatrical journey that holds you tightly in its grasp, “Bright Star” is as refreshingly genuine as it is daringly hopeful.
“Our cast, band, technical crew, and production team—approximately 70 members of the Nobles community in total—will do everything we can to make each performance strong and engaging! Perhaps nowhere else in the school does such a high number of students and faculty collaborate together for so many hours and weeks on so large a project. We hope that all members of the extended Nobles community will try to join us for a performance. The show runs February 14-22.”
